Ajijic’s Carrera del Rosario suits hardcore racers, amateur joggers and anyone who simply enjoys a walk outdoors. Registration is open for up to 400 participants in the 11th edition, set for Sunday, October 25, with a flat route winding through the Pueblo Mágico.

pg11aThe 10-kilometer run starts at 8 a.m. from Calle Colón next to the Capilla del Rosario, on the north side of the Ajijic plaza. Contestants head to the Malecón, continue west to the Tecoluta soccer field, turn onto Calle Ocampo via Flores Magón, run as far as El Bajío near the recycling center, then double back to the plaza.  The 5-kilometer route starts at 8:05 a.m., following the same path as far as La Puerta Nueva just beyond the cemetery before returning via Ocampo.

Runners in either distance may enter male or female divisions in four age categories: Youth (13–17), Open (18–39), Masters (40–50) and Masters B (50 and up). In both distances, the top three Open finishers receive cash prizes and sponsor gifts.   Free Kids’ Races are also offered, with distances from the starting line based on age, from 2 to 12.

The 250-peso fee includes the 2026 T-shirt and a commemorative medal. Proceeds go toward upkeep of the Rosario chapel and new restroom facilities.
