As some readers have pointed out, an error crept into last week’s story on Fernando Valenzuela, the former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher who was  feted at the 2022 All-Star game.

Valenzuela, of course, played for the San Diego Padres, not the NFL’s Chargers, as we incorrectly stated, after he left the Dodgers.  The 1981 Cy Young Award recipient was talented, but not a multi-sports superstar!
