Local girl Daniel Paola Souza thrilled the home crowd when she won a gold medal in the World Tae Kwon Do Championships being held this week in Guadalajara.

Tapatia Souza defeated Qing Guo of China in the final of the women’s -49-kilogram division.  This was Mexico’s second gold medal of the event: a day earlier Leslie Soltero won the top prize in the -67-kilogram division.
