Doctors from Texas
As they have for the past 12 years, doctors from the Shriner’s Hospital in Galveston, Texas carried out examinations of children with severe burns at the New Civil Hospital in Guadalajara this week. The end result is that some of the children will be transported to Texas for free surgery at a future date. The U.S. doctors also praised the burns unit at the Guadalajara public hospital, which is rapidly becoming one of the most progressive in the country.
Allow more time for traveling east-bound (toward the Chapala highway) on the southern periferico (city beltway) through December 30 due to road works at the Avenida Colon intersection, across from the end-of-the-line Tren Ligero (subway) station. A 250-meter stretch of one lane of the periferico will be closed at this point for the rest of the month, as the final touches are put on the intersection’s new bridge.
