City airport shuttle services springing up

Transportes Terrestres shuttles leave from the Avenida Lopez Mateos/Av. Mexico Glorieta seven days a week, each hour on the half hour from 5:30 a.m. (6:30 a.m., 7:30 a.m., etc.). The last bus of the day leaves at 5:30 p.m.

The regular cost is 80 pesos, say office staff, but a discount price of 70 pesos will be applied for the next two months.

The buses leave from the Transportes Terrestres office, which is highly visible at Avenida Lopez Mateos 200, at the corner of the traffic circle where the thoroughfare intersects with Avenida Mexico. The journey takes approximately 20-25 minutes, depending on the traffic and time of day.

Transportes Terrestres also offers a special “servicio a domicilio” (home service) to the airport for 1-3 persons costing 250 pesos.

No reservations for the regular service are necessary. Staff recommend arriving at least ten minutes prior to the departure time.

Call (33) 3615-2855 for more information.

Aeromexico also offers a similar airport service, though only Monday through Friday, from its office at the Minerva Glorieta (Vallarta 2768, across from the Volvo agency). The one-way fare is 70 pesos, dropping to 60 pesos per person for two to three passengers.

Buses leave every hour, on the hour between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m. Reservations are essential and must be made at 01800-3620-200. A valid ticket from any airline (e-ticket or e-mail reservation accepted) must be shown.

Taxis to the airport from Guadalajara – depending on where they are taken from – generally cost in the 200 pesos range.
