Exactly 1,967 Tapatios gathered in Zapopan’s main plaza to break the world record for the number of people singing in a round.
The song, aptly, was “Cielito Lindo,” which beat the record set by 1,613 inhabitants of Liverpool, England in 2012, when they sang the Beatles’ “Love Me Do.”
On hand was Guinness’ Stuart Claxto (above) who witnessed the record attempt.
This is the sixth time a Guinness record has been broken at the city’s Mariachi Festival.
