Should Guadalajara be renamed 'Bachelandia'?

The pothole plague is testing Guadalajara and Zapopan work crews to the limit, but it’s a war they cannot win, experts say.

In Guadalajara public works teams are filling around 900 potholes a day.

Three times that number are appearing on a daily basis as the season rains pound the city’s streets and avenues.

Guadalajara municipal authorities say they have filled around 120,000 potholes since the start of the year.

Eleven teams formed of between five and six workers are sent out to fill potholes each day.

The Guadalajara municipal government receives around 300 telephone complaints of dangerous potholes each day.

To file a pothole report call 070.
