To call Marco Ramirez Villalobos dedicated to his “craft” would be somewhat of an misnomer.
For the past two years, the unemployed 22-year-old has had little time for anything else in his life other than … stealing.
Arrested this week in Guadalajara, Ramirez admitted having stolen 400 cell phones, as well as a string of other thefts that could bring the total to around 800.
His usual modus operandi is to follow his victims on a motorbike and wait until they made or received a call on their cellphones. He would then swoop, snatching the phone with force, before roaring off on his well-tuned moto.
The Jalisco Attorney General’s Office has issued a call for members of the public who recognize having been a victim of Ramirez to come and testify.
