A new Guinness world record was set Sunday, March 24, when 1,486 people took part in a tequila tasting (cata) at the same time.
The attempt was held in the Plaza Liberacion, overlooked by the Guadalajara Metropolitan Cathedral. Once the record was accomplished, the participants sang the popular song “Cielito Lindo.” Interestingly, the state of Quintana Roo had set a new tequila tasting record just a day earlier, with 1,448 people registered. That record didn’t last long!
