Circus arts will be celebrated during the Festival Periplo 2019, scheduled July 29 to July 7 at various venues in Guadalajara.
In addition to conferences and workshops, there will be four shows that are open to the public. The festival opens Saturday, June 29, with two shows by Payaso Cenizas from Argentina (6 and 8:30 p.m.) at the Foro Periplo, to be set up in the plaza facing the city’s Expiatorio Church. Cost: 180 pesos on the day of event.
The same venue showcases “emerging talents” on Wednesday, July 3, 8:30 p.m., while on Friday, July, 5, 8:30 p.m. LARVA (Avenida Juárez 451 Centro Historico) hosts a performance by internationally acclaimed U.S. artists Kyle Driggs and Andrea Murillo, who will create a visually powerful evening with a unique fusion of circus, dance and theater. The festival’s closing event takes place at the Conjunto de Artes Escénicas on Saturday, July 6, 8:30 p.m., when various talented artists from Mexico and abroad will demonstrate their unique circus magic.
