Various Zapopan dignitaries were present this week at the opening of a new dog park in the Parque Eca do Queiros.
Zapopan Mayor Pablo Lemus applauded neighbors who came up with the initiative, as he announced that the park has been submitted for consideration as a natural protected zone. The facility for canines covers 930 square meters and includes various activities and obstacles for dogs to enjoy.
The cost was approximately two million pesos. Councilor Óscar Ramírez Castellanos noted that the park is also the site of the first dedicated glass recycling area in the municipality. The installation features three, 3,000-liter receptacles. The Eca do Queiros park is located to one side of the Autonoma University (UAG) complex, and is accessed at Avenida Patria and Calle Eca do Queiros, four blocks from Naciones Unidos.
