Graffiti from women’s day to be conserved, rector decides

Saying that “women want to tell us something,” University of Guadalajara (UdG) Rector Ricardo Villanueva Lomelí announced that the profuse graffiti defacing the school’s flagship building from Sunday’s large demonstration will not be immediately cleaned up.

pg8bInstead, the markings will be photographed and, in the case of a large, lectern-style plaque on a principal city thoroughfare, Avenida Vallarta, moved elsewhere and exhibited as a memento of what the rector said is “a historical process in the country,” in which March 8 was a watershed moment.
