Guadalajara’s Periferico (beltway) lived up to its reputation as the most dangerous road in Jalisco when two trailer trucks collided early on Thursday, blocking traffic in both directions for several hours while emergency crews cleared the debris.
One of the trucks, transporting bottles of tomato ketchup, overturned and jumped the divider into oncoming traffic.
Fortunately, only three other vehicles were involved in the accident and just two people injured. Emergency personnel worked until noon Thursday before circulation in both directions was fully restored.
