A few years ago, Baltazar started his journey as an independent dog rescuer, dedicating his life to saving dogs in extreme situations—from lost strays to those with serious injuries like spinal fractures or severe malnutrition. He houses them in his Guadalajara home, which he’s turned into a makeshift shelter called “Échame Una Pata” (Lend Me a Paw).
For Baltazar, his mission is simple: “I treat every dog on the street as if it were my own, lost and trying to find its way home,” he says. Through social media, he spreads awareness about the plight of these dogs and the importance of rescuing them.
His dedication has led him to rescue over 60 dogs in the past year and a half, with 15 currently under his care. Baltazar focuses on the toughest cases—those that many others shy away from—because he sees every dog as deserving of a second chance.
