Guadalajara celebrates the 484th anniversary of its founding on Sunday, February 14, with a full day of events in the historic city center.
Festivities begin at 8:45 a.m. outside the Presidencia Municipal on Avenida Hidalgo, where the traditional singing of “Las Mañanitas” will be followed by a presentation from the Ballet Folclórico Guadalajara and the Municipal Choir.
At 6 p.m., Tapatíos will gather on Paseo Alcalde, facing the Plaza de Armas, for a concert celebrating the city, featuring local folk singers Paco Padilla and Mercedes Medina.

Other events include a Recital of Love at the Casa Museo López Portillo at 7 p.m., and a concert and dance party with the Hijos (Sons) of Chapala music legend Mike Laure at Foro Larva.
