On 11 May, the United States will lift the requirement for international air travelers to have to show proof of Covid vaccination when arriving in the country, the White House has announced.
The day coincides with the end of the coronavirus public health emergency in the United States.
In a press release, the White House said the vaccination requirements for certain international travelers was put in place to “slow the spread of new variants entering the country and allow our healthcare system time to effectively manage access to care if faced with an increase in cases and hospitalizations.
“Our Covid-19 vaccine requirements bolstered vaccination across the nation, and our broader vaccination campaign has saved millions of lives,” the missive concluded.
