According to a report by Rolling Stone, should Donald Trump be reelected he intends to send “hit squads” of U.S. special forces into Mexico on covert missions targeting the heads of drug cartels.
The report suggested that the missions would be carried out without the cooperation of the Mexcian government, a situation that would inevitably lead to severe complications in the bilateral relationship.
The Rolling Stone reports sources the former U.S. president’s close collaborators, who confirmed that the idea had been raised in several conversations. While serving as president, Trump reportedly weighed up the idea of bombing narcotics labs in Mexico, also without the consent of this country’s government.
