Operators of downtown Chapala’s parking meter system announced that inspectors are being equipped to issue bar-coded receipts permitting the payment of fines at all branches of the Oxxo convenience store chain as of Friday, May 17.
The new mechanism offers ticketed motorists the conveniences of paying fines at multiple locations open around the clock, rather than being obligated to go to city hall during limited hours.
The printed receipts show detailed information, including the time and date of issuance, license plate number, the motive of the infraction, full amount of the fine, discounted total for prompt payment within five days of issuance and inspector’s name.
