Following a series of public meetings held throughout this week to familiarize Ajijic residents with plans to develop a biking path and sidewalks adjacent to the central highway, city hall officials are gearing up to conduct a formal public opinion poll, tentatively scheduled for Sunday, August 19.
According to press chief Carlos García, the survey will take place at the village plaza, where participants can register “up or down” votes on the project and add observations suggesting moderate modifications to be taken into consideration.
Although exact hours are not yet confirmed, it is projected to run at least between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Mexican citizens will be asked to show their official voter ID cards. Expat residents will be allowed to take part upon presentation of their INM green card residency visas and proof of domicile.
