Scenes of the Lake Chapala area will be featured in a Coca Cola commercial that is scheduled for release next April in the United States and subsequent airings throughout Latin America.
Last week, local residents observed the movements of a huge fleet of trucks, vans and cars carrying equipment and a large crew of filmmakers to various locations in San Juan Cosalá, Ajijic and Chapala.
Although no official information on the project was available to the press, a city hall insider told this newspaper that the shoot was contracted by Coca Cola headquarters in New York. The source revealed that footage capturing Chapala landscapes will appear in the ad, including one segment that was filmed on a platform mounted in the lake.
The same outfit previously worked in the area while filming commercials for Chevrolet and Cemex, Mexico’s leading producer of building materials.
