Race supports breast cancer survivors

Sign up for the second annual five-kilometer Catrina Run to help support therapy treatments for breast cancer survivors.

The five-kilometer event for racers and walkers is scheduled for Sunday, October 28, departing from the Ajijic plaza at 8 a.m.

Registrations for a contribution of 300 pesos are now available at Chapala Med, Plaza Interlago off the Libramiento, Diane Pearl (Colón 1A, Ajijic), or Tepehua Treasures (Hidalgo 98, Riberas del Pilar).

Organized under the joint sponsorship of the Ajijic Rotary Club, Fundación Salvati and Chapala’s Comude Sports Commission, cash prizes will be awarded to first through third-place runners in Women’s, Men’s and Age 12 and under categories. All participants will receive a commemorative tee-shirt, a runner’s medal and complementary hydration drink.  Those who wish may paint their faces with Catrina motifs to symbolize the celebration of life for all women who overcome or battle breast cancer.
