A work crew is hustling to finish construction and embellishment of the circular platform and walkways connecting the Chapala Malecón to the Jesús Pescador statue before the Easter holidays start in mid-April.
The project will showcase a dancing fountain with multicolored lighting installed on a mosaic depicting the Aztec sun symbol measuring 25 meters in diameter. Stone pavers on the pedestrian path are decorated with figures of fish shaped with pebbles. Costs are being covered primarily by funding from Jalisco’s Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Works, with the Chapala municipal government kicking in for protective railings and adjacent green areas.
