Two men were gunned down by unknown assailants Friday, March 13, at the intersection of the Chapala-Jocotepec highway and the Libramiento bypass.
The attack occurred around 8:30 p.m. One of the victims collapsed in the parking lot outside of Black Coffee and was pronounced dead by paramedics and police arriving at the scene. The other man was transported to the Cruz Roja clinic for emergency treatment.
A gun fight between police and civilians was reported Sunday, March 15, between 8.30 and 9 p.m. in the vicinity of the Libramiento and highway approach to Chapala’s north end.
A third shooting was reported Monday, March 16, shortly before noon on the side of the road at Ajijic’s western outskirts, leaving an adult male and female minor injured by gunfire.
The Chapala police department has not released information on any of the incidents.
