Fade-out for landmark Ajijic store

Diane Pearl, local artist and consummate dealer of fine Mexican-made arts and crafts, will shut the doors of her iconic Colecciones gallery in the heart of Ajijic at the end of this month.

pg13aAhead of that, savvy shoppers will want to get in on the three-week close-out sale getting under way Monday, October 12, with discounts of 20 to 40 percent offered on the wide array of merchandise displayed there.

Like many other local shopkeepers, Pearl has fallen on hard times as the coronavirus pandemic rages on. Along with other businesses, she was forced to temporarily close in March. She was able to reopen on a reduced schedule in June, but the severe loss of income over three months exacted a fatal blow.
