The Chapala government has announced plans for continuing the rehabilitation of Calle Colón-Morelos, Ajijic’s central north-south thoroughfare, currently scheduled to start after the Easter holidays.
The project will extend for two blocks between the cross streets Parroquia-Hidalgo and 16 de Septiembre-Independencia. The work entails ripping out the cobblestone and flagstone pavement, installing new underground water and sewage infrastructure, rebuilding sidewalks and resurfacing the street to closely follow the model of last year’s rebuild of the last block of Morelos, minus the elimination of the left-hand parking lane.
