Lakeside author to present book in Ajijic

Author Nancy J. Hill’s first public reading of her book “Unfolding” was in Paris, France.

pg21cShe imagined her eight-year-old self at her side. She believes an aspect of us remains throughout our life. Soul, core, essence it is known by many names. Why is it so hard to hold on to it?

Says Hill: “We begin to create a story about who we are and while it is true, it is limited. Little by little, we can lose connection to our core self. This is particularly true at times of change. At those times, our story breaks apart. We can become disoriented.

“Aging is a time of profound change. We lose friends, loved ones, and often our work identity. Our bodies change and the world around is sometimes unrecognizable. This can also be an opportunity to return to our core self.”

Hill has a master’s degree in social work and has been active in the helping professions for 40 years. “To say that I’m a seasoned professional is to say that curry is a bit spicy.”

She will offer a book reading from “Unfolding” at Casa Del Sol Inn on Thursday, February 29 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. She will also lead an insightful discussion with a generous serving of humor. How do we navigate change as we age?
