Expats in Mexico are the happiest in the world, with the country ranking first out of 68 for personal happiness, according to the the Expat Insider 2018 survey.
Significantly, Mexico tops the charts in being the easiest country in which foreigners can make friends. Eighty-two percent of 18,000 online respondents indicated that it is easy to made friends here, with 85 percent agreeing that settling down here is a piece of cake. A similar figure, 83 percent, indicted that adapting to the local culture is easy.
The Mexico stat is much higher than the average global figure of 45 percent who say it is easy to make friends while living abroad.
Overall, Mexico ranks as the fourth best country in which to live abroad. The study also takes into consideration security, health, education, work, cost of living and other issues.
