Bank clients targeted

The number of bank robberies in Jalisco fell by over half from 112 in 2011 to just 55 in 2012.  The reduction came as banks began increasing security and reducing the quantities of cash in individual branches. However, thieves quickly wised up and began targeting customers on their way home from banks.  The number of people robbed upon leaving banks rose by 400 percent last year, according to the Jalisco Attorney General’s office (PGJEJ).
