Clouds of dust and the thundering of hooves filled San Miguel Cuyutlan, a pueblo in the municipality of Tlajomulco, Sunday, January 21.
The occasion for this equine-sapiens hullabaloo was the “Cabalgada por la Paz,” a government-sponsored parade of horsemen and women that saw the participation of over 1,000 people.
The Tlajomulco government website proclaimed that the event “promotes peace, and brings together delegates from various parts of Tlajomulco in the spirit of harmony, order, solidarity and respect through the proud tradition of Charreria.”
