The 41th International Gastronomy Festival organized by the Jalisco Consular Association (Cuerpo Consular Jalisco) takes place Sunday, April 22, at the Centro de la Amistad Internacional in Guadalajara.
This annual fundraising event offers a wide variety of cuisines from from more then 40 nations that have consular representation in the state.
This year’s event catchphrase is “Where Diplomacy is Your Host.”
Staff from consulates, colleagues and friends of consular representatives and foreign nationals living in the city take it upon themselves to prepare the different dishes.
Expect to find traditional dishes from Spain, the United States, Germany, France, China, Argentina, Israel, Uruguay, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and other countries.
As well as the booths offering traditional food and drink, there will be music and dance performances, as well as an art exhibit. Five local non-profits (ACs) will benefit from the event: Hermanos Unidos Proyeccion, Hogar Vicentino de Guadalajara, Dia de hoy, Hospital Civil de Guadalajara, and Instituto de Desarrollo Comunitario Alcalde.
The event runs from noon to 7 p.m. Entry tickets cost 30 pesos. The car park will charge a nominal fee.
The Centro de la Amistad Internacional is located at Calle Eulogio Parra 2539, less than one block from Avenida Lopez Mateos Norte, behind the Casa Jalisco, the state governor’s official residence.
