Chapala-GDL drivers can expect happy times ahead

With less than one kilometer of paving left in the nine-month repaving project on the Santa-Rosa turnoff to Chapala highway, motorists can begin to breathe easy as they head into Guadalajara.

Finishing touches left to go include some new and revamped drainage on the side of the road, about eight kilometers of yellow and white painted lines, replacement of a few dozen concrete highway dividers, and whitewashing of about six kilometers of dividers.

A couple of large potholes have cropped up in some of the new work and one should assume they will be fixed before the project is finally concluded, most probably before the Christmas vacation period begins.
