Three former municipal police officers in Ixtlahuacán de los Membrillos, two men and a woman, have been sentenced to 25 years in prison for the murder of a man more than two years ago.
Carlos Daniel “N”, César Octavio “N” and Miranda Lizeth “N” were all serving in the municipal force at the time of the crime. According to the case file, the victim, an employee of the federal Communications and Transportation (SCT) Ministry in Ixtlahuacán, disappeared after he had gone to have drinks with Miranda. His body was found several days later under a local bridge, while his belongings were abandoned at a garbage dump in Atequiza.
All three officers were found guilty of participating in the murder.
