Jalisco’s Health Department (SSJ) has revealed that 26 cases of infection with the SAR-CoV-2 virus have been detected among personnel serving in medical centers in Ocotlán and Puerto Vallarta.
Seven of the health care workers testing positive for Covid-19 have been identified as employees at the IMSS Hospital 6 in Ocotlán.
The other 19 cases pertain to staff of medical facilities in Puerto Vallarta where 48 confirmed cases and five deaths were listed in the SSJ’s April 28 status report. Puerto Vallarta ranks third in the state’s Covid-19 incidence rate, surpassed only by Zapopan and Guadalajara.
At press time, Jocotepec, Chapala and Ixtlahuacán de los Membrillos have zero cases on record, while Poncitlán has one and Tizapán el Alto on Lake Chapala’s south shore five.
