‘Botón de Auxilio’ can help Tapatios feel safer

The Jalisco state government has launched a new emergency app that provides citizens in the Guadalajara metropolitan area direct notification of a range of services, including the police, firefighters, civil protection and health authorities.

Governor Enrique Alfaro said he expected the tool – called “Botón de Auxilio” – to become a key factor in the prevention of property crimes.  The app will allow emergency services to “strengthen their capacity for action and response,” he added.

Although everyone with the app will be able to report security, civil protection or health emergencies, people working in shops, gas stations, restaurants, the health sector and public transport, as well as merchandise distributors, will have access to specific tools within the platform.

The application is available for download on Android and iOS.
