Hospitalizations hit new high

The death toll from Covid-19 in the state of Jalisco passed the 5,000 mark on December 8, when a further 28 fatalities were reported.

In addition, December 9 saw the highest number of Covid-19 hospitalizations in the state, 937, since the start of the pandemic. The previous high was 907 on July 27. More than half the patients (57 percent) are in IMSS hospitals, 16 percent in Jalisco Health Department (SSJ) facilities, 11 percent in private hospitals and four percent in those pertaining to the ISSSTE, the health care program for government employees.
