Longtime Guadalajara resident Marcy (Marcia Mae) Matthew died January 30 at the age of 75, after a short illness. In recent years, Matthew was very involved with her family, with the choir at St. Mark’s Anglican Church and the Readers Book Club.
Former Lakeside resident Richard Love died January 24 in Galveston, Texas at the age of 69.
Peter Morse Moir, one of Lakeside’s most colorful characters, died on January 8 at the age of 67.
Longtime Ajijic resident, novelist, playwright and violinist Ed Vlahov died January 18 at the age of 84.
Henry Freihofer, a 59-year resident of Mexico, died December 29 at his home in Guadalajara, at the age of 86.
Mary Jean Bruce, a six-year winter resident of Lakeside, died in a Guadalajara hospital on January 15 at the age of 69.
Ten-year Ajijic resident James B. Tarr died December 20 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah at the age of 74.
Ajijic resident Robert P. Morris died on December 29 at his home in Villa Nova after a long battle with leukemia. He was 75 years old.
Charlie Fagan died in Ajijic on December 7 at the age of 86.
