Shame on Ajijic's parking hogs

Some frustrated Ajijic residents say foreign motorists are among the worst offenders when it comes to parking violations. A Mexican reader of the Reporter submitted photos of several expat vehicles parked illegally along the north side of Calle Parroquia during the June 14 No Kings rally—despite posted traffic signs and yellow curb markings clearly prohibiting parking on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

Miraculous icon coming to town

The Virgen de Zapopan, Lake Chapala’s legendary miracle worker, will arrive in Chapala on Sunday, July 13, for her annual summer pilgrimage. Thousands of devotees will gather to offer prayers for a favorable rainy season.

Fallen boulders in Chapala and landslides in Jocotepec

Two large boulders tumbled down the hillside along Chapala’s Avenida Hidalgo during a fierce storm on the night of Monday, June 23. One struck the street below, damaging part of a historic home.  Meanwhile, the Jocotepec bypass has been closed to traffic due to weather-related landslides.
