Chapala bird fest hypes lake and nature conservation

In sync with thousands of migratory birds that have started winging in from Canada and the United States for the winter season, the fifth annual Festival de las Aves del Lago de Chapala will take flight on Friday, November 21, with ten days of diverse cultural, educational, academic activities aimed at raising public awareness and appreciation for the preservation of Lake Chapala’s rich natural bounty.

Ajijic cobblestone conflict settled

After more than a week of heated wrangling over the most desirable method to refurbish Ajijic’s central streets, the verdict is in. Municipal authorities have prevailed in their plan to resurface four blocks of roadway with cobblestones fixed in concrete, providing temporary jobs to 40 unemployed local construction workers.
