Israeli performers to add color, sparkle to FIL

As the doors of the International Book Fair (FIL) close each evening, the Foro Expo (the covered performance space by the entrance of Expo Guadalajara on Mariano Otero) is given over to performing artists from the invited country – this year Israel.

The shows are free and spectators are accommodated on a first-come, first-seated basis.  In previous years these cultural interludes have proven hugely popular, with audiences waiting up one or two hours to ensure a good view.  Here’s the Israeli delegation’s schedule:

• “Rhythm in Motion” (a mutli-disciplinary spectacle). Saturday, November 30, 9 p.m.

• Noa  (popular Israeli singer) . Sunday, December 1, 9 p.m.

• Anajnu Veatem (traditional Jewish dance). Monday, December 2, 9 p.m.

• Omer Avital and his Band of the East (jazz). Tuesday, December 3, 9 p.m.

• Marsh Donaurma  (jazz). Thursday, December 5, 9 p.m.

• Hadag Nahash (fusion music: hip-hop/rock/reggae/funk). Friday, December 6, 9 p.m.

• Infected Mushroom (electronic music). Saturday, December 7, 9 p.m.

• The Young Professionals (electro pop). Sunday, December 8, 9 p.m.
