Cats
Top professional Mexico City version of Andrew Lloyd Weber musical inspired by T.S. Eliot’s “Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats.”  In Spanish, but admirers of this work won’t mind too much.  Songs are songs, after all!

Sona Jobarteh
A debut concert in Guadalajara by the first female kora (a 21-string lute-bridge-harp used extensively in West Africa) player to come from a Griot (traditional storytelling/musical) family, as well as a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and composer from Gambia and the United Kingdom.

Ballet of the National Theatre Belgrade
Production of “Alexander,” based on the life of Alexander the Great, first premiered by this famed Serbian dance company in November 2013.  Written and choreographed by Ronald Savković, this new ballet borrowed from traditions in opera and straight (non-musical) theatre as well as classic conventions of ballet itself to tell the story of the mercurial Greek leader and his never-ending quest to bring more lands into his vast domain.
