Luis Carlos Rincón (viola) and Areli Medeles Medina (cello). Works by Bottesini and Francaix to be performed. A resident of Guadalajara since 2008, Marinova is currently with the Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra.

Carmina Burana
The Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil de Guadalajara, along with Coro Juvenil de Guadalajara, perform one of the most loved works of the operatic genre. This scenic cantata was omposed in 1935 and 1936 by Carl Orff, and is based on 24 poems from the medieval collection “Carmina Burana.”

Joan Manuel Serrat
Barcelona-born folk and protest singer, now 75, still has a huge following in the Spanish-speaking world. He sings in both Spanish and Catalan, and has been widely influenced by various Latin American poets, including Chile’s Pablo Neruda and Spain’s Antonio Machado.

Gaetano Donizetti’s “La Fille du Régiment” sees tenor Javier Camarena and soprano Pretty Yende team up for a feast of bel canto vocal fireworks– including the show-stopping tenor aria “Ah! Mes amis,” with its nine high Cs. Alessandro Corbelli and Maurizio Muraro trade off as the comic Sergeant Sulpice, with mezzo-soprano Stephanie Blythe as the outlandish Marquise of Berkenfield. Special concert featuring the famed Spanish tenor, hosted by local ranchero favorite Alejandro Fernandez, the son of Vicente Fernandez. The presentation will remember Domingo’s first professional period in Mexico, back in the 1960s.

The 1975
English indie pop rock band from Manchester, consisting of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Matthew “Matty” Healy, lead guitarist Adam Hann, bassist Ross MacDonald, and drummer George Daniel. Their choice of name was inspired by a Jack Kerouac beat poetry book.
