Opening gala of the Jalisco Jazz Festival 2016, organized by the Instituto de Jazz Tónica, features a visual art performance by “Jazzamoart” (jazz, amor y arte), the pseudonym of Guanajuato artist Javier Vázquez Estupiñán.
The University of Guadalajara’s elegant, midtown art museum, the Museo de las Artes, has reopened its artesania shop after a long hiatus.
The fourth State Arts Festival (FESTA), which runs Sunday, July 31 through Saturday, August 6, provides arts groups from various Jalisco municipalities with the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of large audiences in the Guadalajara metro area.
The Jalisco Jazz Festival 2016, organized by the Instituto de Jazz Tónica, features a “Ruta de Jazz” tour on Friday, August 5, from 8 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. that takes in four metro-area night spots and bars: El Deposito Providencia, Primer Piso, Gin Club and Boogie House.
