Sergei Rachmaninoff’s “Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini” and Anton Bruckner’s “Romantic Symphony No 4” open the fall season. Marco Parisotto conducts, Peter Jablonski is the invited pianist.

The Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra (JPO) kicks off its fall season on Friday, October 18 with a conventional program of works by Rachmaninoff and Bruckner directed by guest conductor Marco Parisotto. (The orchestra has yet to appoint a permanent musical director following the departure of Alondra de la Parra earlier this year.)

The world-famous “Concierto de Aranjuez” will be one of the highlights of a special concert to be given by the Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra, also featuring the Jalisco State Choir, on Sunday, September 29, 12:30 p.m. The guest conductor will be Armando Pesqueira, the current director of the Chihuahua Philharmonic Orchestra. The invited guitarist is Pablo Garibay, a well-known Mexican performer and teacher.
