Joe Montana in Guadalajara
Retired NFL quarterback Joe Montana will make a public appearance in Guadalajara Saturday, January 14. The four-time Super Bowl champion will deliver commentary from the Calle 2 venue near the Auditorio Telmex for the 3:30 p.m. New Orleans Saints vs. San Francisco 49ers divisional round playoff game. Montana played for the 49ers for 14 years, helping build that team into a dynasty during the 1980s. In addition to numerous NFL and Super Bowl MVP awards, he is ranked by NFL.com as the number four greatest player of all time.
The event begins at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday with NFL activities throughout the day. Obtain entrance bracelets by purchasing select Modelo beverages from 7-Eleven, Extra and Modelorama outlets.

New hotel
With a 14-million-dollar investment, Inver Hotels plans to build a Holiday Inn Express in Guadalajara’s Zona Americana.
On Chapultepec and Lopez Cotilla, very close to the U.S. consulate, the Holiday Inn will have 135 rooms. Once open, it will employ around 35 full-time staff, although more will be hired during the construction phase.
Construction will begin at the end of next year, once Inver has inaugurated the Hampton Inn on Lopez Mateos and Avenida Las Rosas. In a zone already crowded with hotels, the Hampton Inn will bring another 145 rooms into the near-saturated market.
