TV chef judges student dishes

Famous British TV chef Alan Coxon this week directed a Top Chef-style contest in Guadalajara in which these three students from a local culinary school battled it out over a hot stove to see who will cook with him at the city’s International Book Fair (FIL) in November.

The contest sponsored by the British Embassy in Mexico and the UK Trade and Investment office is called UKMX 2015: Fusion Cooking, and consists of the design, elaboration and presentation of a dish with British ingredients available in Mexico. The winner will work alongside Coxon as he guest chefs at the Hilton Hotel during the FIL, preparing British-themed gourmet dishes.  The winning student’s dish will be included in the official menu. The United Kingdom is the invited country at this year’s FIL.
