Four of the six athletes from Jalisco who have qualified for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games this week visited Governor Aristoteles Sandoval (center) at his official residence.
They were, from left, Nuria Diosdado (synchronized swimming), Alfonso Leyva (wrestling), German Sanchez and Ivan Garcia (diving).
Unable to make the visit were Yanic Gentry (sailing) and Alejandra Zavala (shooting). Other jaliscience sportsmen and women are expected to make the list before the games, scheduled from August 5-21. Sanchez and Garcia will be looking to go one better than London 2012, when they won the silver medal in the 10-meter platform diving event.
