Winners have been announced in the 2015 Best of the Best, People’s Choice Awards sponsored by ImagenMX.
It was an extremely close race, the sponsors say, so close that some won by just a few votes in the last hours or minutes of the contest. Over 10,000 votes were cast on the bestoflakechapala.com website.
In the Restaurant category, multiple awards — including Best Restaurant Overall — went to St. Remy du Lac, thanks to exceptionally diligent voting and social networking. For the second year in a row, Bruno’s won Best Steaks, Best Hamburger and Best BBQ, while also coming in second in the Best Restaurant Overall. The Lake Chapala Society also made an impressive showing, capturing first place in four categories: Best Opthalmologist, Mailing & Shipping, Legal Services, and Outlet for Books. Also winning four important categories (Best Medical Facility, Emergency Care, Primary Care Doctor, and Best Psychologist) was Maskaras Clinic.
On December 1, the top five candidates were announced, based on public nominations and votes received earlier in the year during the preliminary/semi-finals stage. All vote tallies were re-set to zero for the Finals so that each candidate began on equal footing.
The winners are entitled to use the award emblem in all print or web publicity, and will receive a certificate suitable for framing.
This is the third People’s Choice survey conducted by ImagenMX, and the second online. Watch for announcements of refinements for the 2016 awards contest, aimed at upgrading and streamlining the voting process.
