Lake Chapala Society prepares its annual Summer Art Camp

The fourth Lake Chapala Society (LCS) Children’s Art Program (CAP) Summer Art Camp runs Monday, July 18 through Friday, July 22 from 10 a.m. to noon daily.

A sale of the children’s artworks from the workshops will be held in the LCS Gazebo Saturday, July 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This annual project wouldn’t be possible without the generous financial support of the Ajijic Society of the Arts and the dedication of its members, who come every day to help with the workshops.

This year’s workshops include acrylics, collage, drawing, fabric art, jewelry making, papel maché, and watercolors. Also offered are daily projects for children aged six and under. The kids will also work on piñatas. The program will accommodate up to 140 children who will each be given a small snack at the end of each day.

Workshops are filling up, so if you know of any children who would like to participate, ask their parents to complete a form at the LCS office or to come to the Art Patio on Saturdays between 10 a.m. and noon.
