Chapala area expats marked the 240th Anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence with various special events, including the Democrats Abroad luncheon held Saturday, July 2 at the Hotel Montecarlo and the traditional July 4th party at American Legion Post 7.
The Democrats Abroad gathering featured a sumptuous buffet menu of typical holiday picnic fare, while the Legion crowd feasted on platters of fried chicken, potato salad and corn on the cob.
Booked at both of the celebrations, Noe and the Classics got folks up on their feet with a repertoire of golden oldies, including classic Louis Armstrong hits interpreted in flawless Satchmo style by Jimmy Barto.
