Thursday, September 29, the Rotary Club of Chapala Sunrise distributed 20 wheelchairs to needy citizens of lakeside. Two chairs were designated for the Chapala Cruz Roja to help them with their work.
The club provided assistance in helping people into their new wheelchairs.
These heavy duty chairs are especially good for lakeside’s cobblestone streets, as they have all-terrain tires and are built with special features for comfort and safety.
The cost of the chairs is shared equally by Chair the Love, an organization in Florida, the Rotary Club of Chapala Sunrise and Rotary District 4140.
This is the third time that Rotary has been involved in wheelchair distribution in the area and there are more events scheduled.
The Rotary Club of Chapala Sunrise meets Thursdays at 10 a.m. at Palapa de Don Juan Acapulquito, Chapala. Visitors are welcome.
